      MaidenHumboldt was founded in 2001 by Dave Sky and good mate Thad Horner, inspired by our friend David Katz, founder of AEE Solar, who started out many years ago with the goal of bringing renewable, non-polluting power to homes and businesses in our foothills community in the northern California coastal redwood region. Dave and Thad, along with our late friend Arlo Hagler, being devoted "Solar Techies", provided alternative energy for local festivals and private parties, including but not limited to: The Kate Bush Festival, The Mateel Arts and Music Festival, the North Humboldt County Fair, and the Monument Gate protests. Arlo passed away in 2002 from stomach cancer leaving a great void in our lives as well as in the local alternative energy industry.

      Over the recent years the vision and scope of our projects have steadily expanded. Propelled by the technological advances and rapid growth of the renewable energy industry, MaidenHumboldt has taken up the challenge to recreate the concert industry as a whole, by powering it with viable green alternative energy.

      Today, MaidenHumboldt provides expert technical support and equipment to concert promoters in North America and around the world, who are interested in “green energy”. We can supply items such as solar panels, wind generators, and the HEC, the Human Energy Converter. This unique people-powered electrical generator utilizes bicycles mounted on a trailer, connected to our DC/AC system and is designed to allow concertgoers to help power the gig. With suitable alternative energy equipment the concert can become completely independent not only of the power grid, but even of our petroleum economy. We also provide support to other specialty dealers, OEMs, (original equipment manufacturers), industrial remote power users, and any others who wish to break free from the dominant energy paradigm.
